Running! I just ran the Disney Marathon, in January!

How long have you been working out? I have been working out off and on for 20 years, but I just started running last August

How often do you work out? I run 3 days a week, and try to fit in strength 2 days a week, although that doesn’t always happen! i just started P90X so I hope that helps!

What’s your favorite outfit to Sweat Pink in? I LOVE running skirts, altho it is getting too cold for that! I also love running in race tees from past races that I have run. Alot of races give out tech shirts now.

What’s your favorite healthy snack and meal? Apples and peanut butter is a new fave, and I LOVE making homemade chili with ground turkey. Everybody eats it, and it is a great meal if you add some salad on the side for your veggie.

If you could have one cheat day where nothing counted against you, what would you eat and do? Cake cake cake, did I mention cake?

What is your biggest motivation to staying fit? The example I set for my kids! They see me losing weight (over 30 lbs in the last year) and they barking1 come to some of my races, and they are in awe. Not an easy things to do when you have teenagers!

Any advice for the beginners out there? Take it slow to avoid injury, READ about whatever new thing you are trying, and be patient. You didn’t get overweight and out of shape over night, so you cannot fix it overnight either. Find a support group and lean on them!

What’s your favorite thing about blogging? I love reaching out to people and giving them inspiration, showing them that it isn’t always easy, and that it can be fun! It is also a great outlet for me, and helps to keep me accountable!

How do you hope to inspire people? I started running at the age of 38, finished 4 Half Marathons at the age of 39, and will complete my first Full Marathon just shy of my 40th birthday. *anyone* can do this! The wonderful thing about racing is that the only person you need to beat is yourself. I love it when my friends tell me that they have started running because they saw me doing it. I hope that I can continue to inspire women my age to finally get active!

The official date of the race will be February 16, one month before I run the Rock n Roll USA Half Marathon, on behalf of Susan G Komen’s Marathon for the Cure program, but you can run any time in February. 100 racers =$1500, let’s do this!
